History

Frisbie-Warren & Carroll MortuaryIn 1928, George Frisbie and Ben E.H. Warren founded Frisbie & Warren Mortuary at the corner of San Joaquin and Acacia streets in Stockton. In 1929, they moved the business to the corner of Miner Avenue and North American Street, where it remained until 1941, when they needed a larger space for the growing business.

It was at that time that George and Ben moved the funeral home to its present location on North California Street. They added a chapel in 1959.

Don Spellmon purchased the funeral home that same year, and he operated it until 1974, when he sold the business to Max Carroll.

Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary joined the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers in 1986. The funeral home continues a tradition of service excellence to this day.
